Hey there! I’m Shawn — founder of Rolling Rideau Auto Spa, long-time car care nerd, and someone who genuinely loves helping people feel good about their vehicles. Whether it’s a quick wipe-down or a full interior rescue mission, I’ve been deep in the detailing world for 20 years — working as both an employee and contractor for Ottawa-area dealerships and detail shops, and eventually running my own business. From showroom prep to everyday vehicles and everything in between, I’ve seen what it takes to deliver real, lasting results — and I’m still just as obsessed with the process today.

This blog is an extension of that passion — but it’s not just about salt stains and shiny dashboards (though yes, we’ll definitely cover those). It’s a place to share practical tips, trusted product recommendations, and stories from around the community. You’ll find behind-the-scenes glimpses into life on the road, advice to help you care for your vehicle, and spotlights on other small businesses and individuals doing great things in and around Manotick.
This community means a lot to me. I spent 10 years living and working in Manotick throughout my twenties, and my wife was born and raised here — in a home her parents built over 40 years ago. One day, we hope to move back into that same house and raise our family in the village that’s shaped so much of who we are. Until then, Rolling Rideau is our way of staying connected, supporting the local economy, and delivering the kind of honest and convenient service every car owner deserves.

Whether you’re a weekend cruiser, the proud owner of a goldfish-cracker-covered car seat, or just someone who loves that freshly detailed feeling — you’re in the right place. This blog is where car care meets community, with practical tips, product picks, and stories from the world of Manotick auto detailing and beyond.
Thanks for being here. We’re just getting warmed up — and we’re pumped to have you along for the ride. - Shawn
